Gett: The Trial Of Viviane Amsalem

Viviane (Ronit Elkabetz) seeks a divorce (a gett) but in Israel only rabbis can legitimise her divorce - and only with full consent of her manipulative husband Elisha (Simon Abkarian), who obstinately refuses to grant Viviane's wish. Set in a small, claustrophobic courtroom, Gett chronicles Viviane's frustration and courage as she is effectively put on trial by a patriarchal to society for daring to ask for freedom. And a comedy to almost boot.
